On March 8, we had the privilege of hosting a one-night-only culinary celebration in honour of International Women’s Day, bringing together some of the city’s top chefs, mixologists, and entrepreneurs to celebrate the remarkable women shaping the culinary landscape.
Guests enjoyed expertly crafted cocktails from mixologists Monica Carbonell (Liquid Culture) and Eleni Bock (Canoe) while anticipation built for an inspiring five-course dinner. The menu featured dishes from celebrated guest chefs Nuit Regular (PAI and Kiin), Laura Maxwell (Avling Brewery), and O&B’s own talented chefs Alessandra Bustamante, Martina Soos, and Solange Reyes.
As the evening unfolded, guests savored a vibrant array of dishes, from Chef Solange Reyes’ Pastel de Choclo to Chef Nuit Regular’s Beef Short Rib Massaman Curry, all complemented by hand-selected wines and Avling Brewery beer. The night culminated with Chef Alessandra Bustamante’s delicate Sans Rival Cake, rounding off a remarkable meal that celebrated women’s creativity and leadership.
A portion of the proceeds—$5 per ticket sold and $2 from each featured drink—was donated to Nellie’s, a local charity providing a safe space for women and children facing challenges, offering shelter, community outreach, and skill-building programs to help them reclaim their strength and build a new path forward.
This dinner was a tribute to the women leading the way in the culinary world. Thank you to all who joined us—your support made this event truly unforgettable!
